How can we understand how data flows across a company? If all data is in PostgreSQL, well... problem solved! We can hit the metadata views and extract what's needed. But this is impossible when data assets are scattered across several platforms using different technologies.
This talk is about how to recreate the data assets global map by parsing technologies metadata. We'll start by defining use cases like GDPR or data lineage where this is a requirement, and then focus on how we can design a system, based on PostgreSQL and its hidden graph capabilities, that collects, merges and exposes metadata coming from a variety of tools.
