Schedule - Nordic PGDay 2023
Postgres is stable, too stable, so stable that we sometimes forget that it still needs maintenance. Upgrading Postgres regularly is part of the routine maintenance that most people won't do. That's why we see so many Postgres clusters still in Postgres version 9.3.5. Most of the time, we think that doing nothing is less risky than doing something when a system is stable, but maybe that needs to be rethought when considering upgrades.
Let's explore how we can schedule minor and major upgrades and the tasks that need to be done, how often they need to be done, and why you would want them.
