Run PostgreSQL Like a Product: Operational Readiness for Databases
Wednesday, April 22 at 14:40–15:25
Running PostgreSQL in production is no longer just a database challenge, it is an operational discipline. Organizations struggle not with PostgreSQL itself, but with ensuring reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency at scale in real-life operations. This session takes a practitioner’s view on PostgreSQL Operational Readiness, starting from common production challenges such as backup and recovery, monitoring, security, high-availability, and operational governance. We outline a product-oriented operating model and architecture that treats PostgreSQL as a business-critical platform rather than a standalone technology. Attendees will see how different building blocks covering observability, resilience, automation, and security fit together to enable stable and predictable operations.
