Postgres is one of the most resilient and sophisticated projects in open-source history. Through a combination of community-driven innovation and sizeable technical contributions from vendors like EDB, Postgres has achieved massive technical objectives that have shifted the database landscape. Many in the industry now openly claim that "Postgres won"—becoming the universal standard for modern application development. However, we aren't done yet. As we look toward the next decade, we must ask: what breakthroughs are still on the horizon?
