Schedule - PGConf.EU 2016

PAF: auto failover and more!

Date: 2016-11-02
Time: 16:20–17:10
Room: Alfa 2
Level: Intermediate

Correct High Availability setup is hard to achieve. It requires skills and time to test, document and master the whole thing.

PostgreSQL Automatic Failover is a new Pacemaker resource agent for PostgreSQL. Its original wish is to draw a clear limit between the Pacemaker administration and the PostgreSQL one, to keep things simple, documented and yet powerful.

This talk will cover why we felt the need to write a new, modern, RA for PostgreSQL, how easy is it to install and set it up, what it is able to do and its future. You want a proper HA for PostgreSQL? To be able to restart your cluster without headache? Switchover and switchback in seconds without rebuilding a single node? Doing some maintenance easily? Join this talk to discover how PAF answer these questions!
