Schedule - PGConf.EU 2018

Location - the universal foreign key. Past, present and future of spatial data in PostgreSQL

Date: 2018-10-24
Time: 09:45–10:45
Room: New York
Level: Intermediate

Location is the "universal foreign key", that allows us to join data and reason about data from multiple sources: what is the demographic profile of the new customer segment? do new customers live near referring customers? how much time does the truck spend in the county tax boundary? what donut store do the police officers go to?

The PostGIS extension to PostgreSQL includes over 300 functions for spatial queries and analysis. This talk will cover basic spatial use cases, some performance tips for making spatial go faster, and a tour of some of the advanced spatial analysis features that are only available in PostGIS.
