Karen Jex
Karen leads the PostgreSQL Europe Diversity Task Force, organises PostgreSQL conferences, and gives talks about databases at database and developer events.
Karen has always worked with databases, spending the first 20 years of her career as a DBA. She recently moved over to the engineering team at Snowflake as a Senior Software Engineer in the Postgres extensions team. She works mainly on the open source pg_lake project, and other projects that enable data movement between Postgres and various data sources.
Karen was once described as “quite personable for a DBA” which she decided to take as a compliment!
Outside of the world of databases Karen loves cycling, mountain biking, skiing and spending time with her family in the mountains where she lives.
