I have been working as a Database Engineer for 20 years, I started my DBA career with Oracle and SQL Server.
In 2015, I switched to working predominantly with Postgres. Between 2017 and 2021 I managed a team migrating 1000s of Oracle Databases in a very large & global "private cloud" into Postgres running in the "public cloud" (multiple DCs in US, EU, Singapore, Australia, Korea...).
In Feb 2021, I joined Adyen in the Amsterdam HQ and have been working on some exceptionally large Postgres installations. In Sept 2022 I joined Gartner in Barcelona to lead multiple DBA teams based in US, Europe and India, this was a very exciting role and I loved living in Barcelona. However after a year, I had to move to Madrid for family/health reasons and so decided to return to Adyen who have a new Tech Hub in Madrid.
I'm a big fan of Postgres and the amazing support from the Postgres community, regularly attending both pgconf.eu and FOSDEM. I have also presented to the Postgres NL usergroup.
Going forward I'm looking to getting the Postgres Spain usergroup events going again in 2024 (no Spanish events since before covid!)
