All beginnings are difficult, especially if you don't start with Postgres.
This applies to puzzles as well, the start is hard and the more progress you made the easier it becomes usually.
Today we want to talk about the long, hard road of database migrations away from proprietary DBMS and towards PostgreSQL. I'd like to talk about experiences we made during large migration projects and all the challenges we faced. This talk tries to balance between a deep dive into technical challenges, infrastructure, organizational problems and many other parts you currently might not even consider. All those things are parts of the migration puzzle and when they all fit together you end up in the really cool world of open source and PostgreSQL.
