Schedule - PGConf.EU 2023
Valeria Kaplan
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when I became part of the Postgres community. The process was gradual, and it took time for me to truly grasp what being part of an open-source community means. It took even longer to understand how it functions - with its diverse roles, responsibilities, and interests at play.
I’ve found that the only way to truly understand the Postgres community is to engage with its members -sharing your ideas, perspective, and energy.
I’ve attended many community conferences and helped organise others. I serve as Chair of the PGUS User Group Committee, and am also part of the Funds Group, the Diversity Task Force, and a recognised PostgreSQL Contributor.
Aside from its technical advantages, financial benefits, and freedom from vendor lock-in, Postgres offers so much more. I’m humbled to be part of the unique open-source movement that is PostgreSQL.
