The goal of this community event is to help organizers, speakers, and others learn to grow the community around them. We will discuss growing speakers, reaching out to other groups, gathering sponsors, and organizing events. We hope to train the next generation of volunteers and provide those volunteers with the resources they need to be successful.
Topics include:
- Conference planning: Focus on planning and organizing events, exhibition planning, events to target, and how and where to get involved.
- PostgreSQL Exhibition Efforts: Volunteer efforts to represent the PostgreSQL community at other communities.
- Developer outreach: Focus on app developers and how to help them in the future; academia outreach (both students and faculty); underrepresented communities outreach.
- Speaker growth: How to increase the number of speakers in the community, better train speakers, and what we can do to accept new speakers.
We intend to have people register for the sessions and then treat them like breakouts. Each breakout will run for a set period of time, and discussions will be reported back to the whole group.
Each session will be 1 hour in length, and it will be mostly an open roundtable. Allowing for discussion and questions led by one of our team members. After 1 hour, you are welcome to switch to another room and attend another aspect of community building. We hope you will join us for this event and help to grow this amazing community.
