Ellyne Phneah is a recognized PostgreSQL Ecosystem Strategist and the author of Decode PostgreSQL. She specializes in bridging the communication gap between deep technical innovation and the strategic frameworks required for sustainable open-source growth. Ellyne has over 14 years of experience as a communications professional, focusing on areas like cybersecurity, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.
Ellyne drives strategic clarity, particularly in her role in Marketing at DBtune. Her unique methodology from Decode PostgreSQL, which she calls the "Grandpa Test" , is dedicated to building Technical Empathy and translating complex database concepts (like pgvector and scaling) into clear, actionable business strategy.
A passionate advocate for inclusion and knowledge sharing, Ellyne's dedication to the community is extensive: one of the organizers of the Malmö PostgreSQL User Group (M-PUG) and the PostgreSQL & AI Summit at PGConf EU 2025.
