My name is Cornelia Biacsics, and I entered the PostgreSQL ecosystem in 2022. Since then, I have been working closely with a broad range of PostgreSQL companies from a go-to-market and marketing perspective, which has given me insight into both PostgreSQL's technical excellence and the challenges of communicating its value beyond our immediate community.
Over the past years, I have become increasingly active in the PostgreSQL community and am steadily learning how the ecosystem, its initiatives, and its governance work.
My community involvement includes serving as a conference co-organiser for PGDay Austria 2021, PGDay Austria 2025, PGDay Armenia, and PGConf.de 2026, and being a founding member of the Open Alliance for PostgreSQL Education. I also co-author weekly community contribution summaries with a team and speak at PostgreSQL events. More recently, I founded the PostgreSQL User Group in Vienna and joined the PostgreSQL Europe Diversity Committee.
I am standing for election because I believe PostgreSQL Europe can benefit from a stronger and more deliberate focus on outward communication and visibility. PostgreSQL and its community are exceptional — technically, culturally, and ethically — yet there remains significant potential to reach beyond our existing “friends-zone” and make PostgreSQL more visible and approachable to a wider audience.
My goal is not to promise large or immediate changes, but to help plant seeds, improve perspectives, and support sustainable growth over time. If elected, I would contribute a communication and ecosystem perspective to the board, while ensuring that the voices of organizations that support PostgreSQL contributors and community work are heard in a balanced way, always in alignment with PostgreSQL Europe’s values.
