I've been a board member of PostgreSQL Europe since it's creation in 2008, and have been serving as the president of the board. I'm also a developer in the global development group, and I work on the infrastructure services that we use. During paid time, I work as a PostgreSQL consultant for Redpill Linpro in the Nordic region, doing all sorts of PostgreSQL things - training, support, consulting, development etc.

PostgreSQL Europe have now definitely left it's early years and entered a fairly stable state. There are still many things to do, but much of the day-to-day work is a lot more structured these days. A part of this that I personally find very important is the work I've put in together with Guillaume to formalize many oft he parts of the financial tracking and reporting, now that we are dealing with much larger events and thus much larger sums.

With our main events (PGConf.EU and FOSDEM PGDay) on a stable track and either selling out or being close to selling out most years, I think it's time to work more actively with other events (while of course maintaining the quality of our main events). With this, I mean that PostgreSQL Europe currently has a very well developed platform (both a technical platform but also, and more importantly, a lot of experience with anything from financials to contract negotiations for this type of events) that can be used for others.

I believe that we should encourage more local events (such as a PGDay or smaller more local conference) that live alongside our main events, and that we should help these events out in any way we can (financially, technically, organizationally, marketing etc etc). This is of course something the local events will have to ask for if they want it, but we should do our best to facilitate their organization.

I would be honored to continue serving on the board for the next period. Thank you for your support in this!
