Andreas Kretschmer had first contact with PostgreSQL around 2002. At this time he was working as an admin in an industrial enterprise. From there he found contact to the German community, and helped organizing various events in Germany. In order to be able to work professionally with PostgreSQL, he changed jobs and was working for a hosting provider. Since 2016 he is working for 2ndQuadrant Germany as a consultant and support specialist.
