OpenCL (TM) is the first open, royalty-free standard for cross-platform, parallel programming language for GPGPU processors. OpenCL (Open Computing Language) greatly improves speed and responsiveness for a wide spectrum of applications in numerous market categories from gaming and entertainment to scientific and medical software. PgOpenCL unlocks the tremendous power of parallel processing using GPGPU processors for the PostgreSQL database. It's a new procedural language with associated data types that provides a simple way of running OpenCL's parallel code as User Defined Functions from PostgreSQL.
